OUR TOURING PHILOSOPHY

Colorado and the Rocky mountain West are a motorcyclist’s paradise. Snow-capped mountains and red rock canyons provide endless miles of stunning scenery, traversed by the kind of sinuous, sweeping byways that are a rider’s dream come true. We’ve spent many years and thousands of miles exploring the very best of these scenic roads and sharing our favorites with enthusiastic touring riders.

The ideal candidate to participate in our tours is an experienced motorcyclist with an appreciation for a good motorcycle and an itch to explore back roads and byways, villages and open spaces. To us, this is the essence of sport-touring.

You’ll notice that the roads in our photos are mostly clear of traffic. This is no camera trick. The roads we choose to travel are lightly trafficked, essentially free of the stultifying tourist parades that choke the well-known routes. Join us and experience the freedom of the open road!

We are here to ride, and ride we shall. But there is much to see and do in Colorado, and we encourage tour participants to optimize their experience according to their interests. We have found that the best way to allow for and encourage this flexibility is to begin and end the day together, but not to tie individual riders to a rigid itinerary from point A to point B. We are a group of motorcyclists with a common appreciation for great touring, not a herd of clones in parade formation.

We have eclectic interests and anticipate that other riders in our tours do too. To enhance the tour experience, we introduce you to the history, geology and paleontology in which the Rocky Mountain Region is steeped. Our 8- and 12-day tours include discretionary days (rest days, if you so choose) to explore the special sights and activities that can’t be done justice while on the move. Where possible, we invite experts to interpret sites we visit: ghost towns, paleo-Indian ruins, dinosaur fossils and other features of the Wild West.
