Many riders have toured with us over the years without requiring a support vehicle. This year we've decided to offer scheduled tours with all the features and amenities of our regular tours, but without the luxury of a support vehicle. Leaving the support vehicle parked saves us a considerable amount of money, and we can pass this savings along to you. What does this mean to the tour customer? The only differences between the Independence Tours and our regular tours are that we'll carry our own clothing on our bikes, and the tour fees are considerably lower, an average of about $300 less than for our regular tours.
When I tour on vacation alone or with friends, this is my preferred way to travel. Since all we need to carry is all-weather gear and some casual clothing to change into of an evening, it's easy to pack it on the average roadworthy motorcycle. Most rental bikes are equipped with luggage adequate to the task.
