| “the open road is a beckoning, a strangeness, a place where a man can lose himself.” |
| -- William Least Heat Moon (William Trogdon) |

| This is the ride you will remember for a lifetime. With twelve days to leave the daily routines far behind, we can cover plenty of ground at a relaxed pace and explore Colorado's wide variety of topography, from high mountain passes to deep red rock canyons.
We'll have lots of opportunities to check out historic sites, ancient cultures, the area's colorful history.
Two discretionary days ("rest days," if you choose) allow for lots of personal choices along the way.
It's no exaggeration to say that the twelve-day Best of the West Tour is a life-changing experience.
If you value the journey rather than the destination, this is the tour for you.
This year we are offering the More of the Best Tour as a custom tour for groups of four to ten riders This means that the dates of the tour are flexible to meet the needs of the group booking it. In this way we are able to put together a great tour package at a group price. Custom tours of shorter duration are available as well, and can structure any custom tour as an INDEPENDENCE TOUR, without chase vehicle.
Contact us with your parameters and specific needs.Tour fee is highly variable depending on many factors, but we will structure a plan to your budget. |

“Bob knows those old Indian trails, the roads less travelled. We rode
on perfect macadam along routes that were ours alone. Fifty-mile-long
valleys, deserted mountain passes, alpine forests, rolling plains and
desert canyon landscapes. Sometimes I thought ’Why were these roads
ever built? There’s no one on them, yet they run through the most
stupendous scenery imaginable. Do Americans not like this stuff? Do
they get stuck on some trinket trail on the back of a tour guide
brochure? Do they not know these routes exist? How is this? Bob does.’
I can’t help saying that if you miss the tour with Bob Herman, there
might be one garden in your mind that grows only GMO
herbicide-resistant superweeds and you will never know why.”
